Description

Rye Apartments is a ten-unit sustainable development located ona prominent corner site opposite Peckam Rye Park in London. Designed with a clear focus on contextual sensitivity and performance, the two-block scheme blends seamlessly into its red-brick surroundings while asserting a contemporary, sculptural identity. Clad in the Petersen C48 Cover Tile, the buildings reinterperet familiar materials through a refined, modern architecturak language that responds to site constraints, privacy needs, and environmental priorities.

Driven, by sustainable design principles, the project utilises a Cross-Laminated-Timber (CLT) structure – sequestering over 227 tons of carbon – and features passive design strategies, solar control glazing, and heat recovering systemsm all within a super airtight envelope. The result is a calm, tractile living environment that integrates minimal palettes and celebrates natural light and craftsmanship.

Requirements

EBM worked closely with the architect to support the development of technically challenging detailing, including customer metal corner trims. Leveraging deep technical knowledge and a curated catalogue of premium, design-led products, EBM offered solutions that aligned with both the architectural vision and the project’s high-performance goals. Unlike standard firms, our team provided proactive design collaboration and detailed techincial support from early stages through execution.
