Environmental, Social and Governance

Building Sustainably. Leading Responsibly. Growing Together.

Environmental Stewardship

At EBM, we're building a future that respects the planet. Sustainability shapes how we source, design, and deliver - from using FSC-certified timber and low-carbon products, to embedding material passports for transparency and circularity. We champion innovation through products like the Eco Habitats Range and the Pirrouet brick, which support biodiversity and reduce environmental impact. We partner with manufacturers who share our values, including those moving to biofuels, and are proud members of the Supply Chain Sustainability School. Through our Take-Back program, we keep materials in circulation and donate surplus bricks and timber to local allotments and community projects. For us, environmental responsibility isn't an initiative - it's built into everything we do.

Social Responsibility

People are at the heart of everything we build, from our teams to the communities we support. We prioritise health, safety, and well-being on every project and are committed to creating inclusive opportunities through training and career development. We abide by the highest ethical standards across our supply chain. We work only with partners who reject slave and child labour, pay living wages, and ensure safe, fair working conditions. We have a zero-tolerance policy toward human trafficking and modern slavery, backed by ongoing due diligence and policy procedures. Our Materials Donation Programme helps local groups by repurposing surplus bricks and timber for community projects, including a recent memorial wall with Eton Manor Rugby Club. Every EBM employee also receives two paid volunteer days each year to support a charity of their choice. At EBM, social responsibility is more than a policy, it's a part of how we build better, together.

Strong Governance & Ethical Leadership

Integrity and transparency guide every decision we make. We enforce strict standards across our operations and supply chain, including a zero-tolerance policy on corruption, modern slavery, and child labour. We work only with partners who uphold human rights, provide safe working conditions, and pay fair wages. We expect full alignment with our values, from ethical sourcing and FSC-certified materials to the use of biofuels and low-impact logistics. We’re committed to transparency through recognised frameworks such as the Supply Chain Sustainability School. As our industry digitises, we prioritise GDPR compliance and cybersecurity, ensuring data protection at every level. At EBM, good governance means building trust and holding ourselves, and our partners, to the highest standards.
